GetDefensive.com (“GD”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and visitors to its web site. The GD privacy policy is outlined below. The information about you (“STUDENT”) collected by GD is subject to this privacy policy. By disclosing personal information to GD, STUDENT agrees to the terms of this privacy policy.

Collection and Storage of Information: GD will collect certain personal information, including STUDENT’s name, address, e-mail address, driver’s license number, traffic ticket information, and other personal information when STUDENT registers for the GD online course. GD maintains this information in its customer database.

Use of Information: This information is used to provide STUDENT with the GD online course as requested; to provide the court with information about STUDENT’s performance; to enable billing and shipping of the Certificate of Completion; to provide STUDENT with information about related products and services; to improve the GD web site; and for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. GD will not share STUDENT’s personal information with parties outside of its company.

STUDENT’s Rights: STUDENT may review and approve the information collected upon registration in the GD customer database. Upon request, GD will remove that information from its customer database or change/correct personal information that STUDENT states is erroneous.

Security Policy: GD undertakes extensive precautions to ensure the security of STUDENT’s information both online and offline.

Online: Private information entered by STUDENT in the GD registration form (i.e., payment information, driver’s license number) is encrypted and protected by SSL, the finest encryption software available. While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of STUDENT’s web browser will appear in the locked position.

Offline: GD also protects STUDENT’s private information offline. GD limits access to information submitted by STUDENT to employees when needed to perform necessary tasks. All GD employees receive training on the GD privacy and security policies. In addition, the servers on which GD stores STUDENT’s information are maintained in a secure environment.

How much do I have to pay for the GetDefensive.com online defensive driving course?

GetDefensive.com offers Texas internet defensive driving classes, and the price may vary by format. If you select the defensive driving DVD or the defensive driving streaming video, the cost may be slightly higher. For the online defensive driving course, the price is the minimum allowable price under State law, and this includes the shipping of the Texas certificate of completion that will be mailed.

I recently received a traffic citation and need to sign up for GetDefensive.com’s Texas defensive driving online class for ticket dismissal. What are the steps to successfully complete the online defensive driving class?

GetDefensive.com offers two (2) types of internet defensive driving courses – one is for ticket dismissal and the other is for auto insurance premium reduction. You may enroll in GetDefensive.com’s internet defensive driving class on any computer with internet access. You are free to start and stop as often as you’d like, and then pick up from wherever you left off. The online defensive driving course is divided into several chapters, and at the end of each chapter you will be required to complete a brief, multiple-choice quiz which will assist you in preparing for the final exam. When you pass the final exam, GetDefensive.com will issue to you a certificate of completion which will be mailed to you via the mailing method that you pick at registration.

My auto insurance premiums are more than average due to a prior traffic ticket. Am I eligible for any auto insurance reduction when I take GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving internet program?

Although we do advise that you consult with your local auto insurance agent prior to starting the GetDefensive.com defensive driving internet class. I have a new job that requires me to work long and irregular hours. Am I expected to take the GetDefensive.com defensive driving internet course all at one time?

No. You may start and stop when you take GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving internet program. You {are not required|do not have|do not need| to finish the class all at once.
